Applied Connective Technologies, LLC can trace it roots in Central Nebraska back to 1983. In its current form ACT has been providing professional IT and communication solutions to customers in the Mid-West for over 10 years. Established in 2004, Applied Connective Technologies has offices based in Albion and Fullerton, Nebraska. They make it their priority to provide the highest quality service to clients throughout greater Nebraska as well as Iowa, South Dakota, and Kansas. Applied Connective Technologies serves a number of industries, including; agriculture, finance, healthcare, government, education, hospitality, and small to medium size business of any affiliation.
In 1983, Tom Krings made the decision to relocate from Omaha, NE, where he’d been working in the copier service industry since 1973. He started a business called Copier Service and Supply. The focus of the business was solely on copiers and telephone systems. In 1990, the company expanded into computer sales and service along with the sales of office supplies. In 1999, Tom sold Copier Service and Supply to a company in Sioux City, IA. He did, however, retain a portion of the business that sold and serviced the phone and computer systems. Tom operated this business as Krings Communications.
In 2002, after graduating from Doane College, Ed Knott began working at ITI (now Fiserv) in Lincoln. For two years at ITI, Ed’s responsibilities included installing and supporting Internet banking and ATM products throughout the US. Ed soon became interested in relocating back to rural Nebraska. A mutual relationship with Petersburg State Bank led to the introduction of Tom and Ed.
Tom and Ed formed a partnership in 2004 and Krings Communications became Applied Connective Technologies, LLC. The initial focus was primarily commercial phone systems but soon expanded into IT and networking. From there, the business has expanded into security, surveillance, and many other solutions to fit the needs of their customers.
Applied Connective Technologies is unique because of local ownership with an emphasis on local service. With a current full time staff of 11 having extensive experience in all facets of telecom, datacom and other emerging technologies, ACT is able to give their customers a one-point contact for all of their technical needs. While their service area has no boundaries, the focus has always been toward the underserved markets outside of the Lincoln/Omaha metros. The foundation of ACT has always been built upon great products coupled with unmatched customer service.
